Logan Capital Management Adds Portfolio Manager
Daniel Gruemmer joins the portfolio management team in support of the Value and International strategies team

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. — [Sept. 16, 2022] — Logan Capital Management, Inc. (Logan Capital), a registered investment advisor with a series of separately managed accounts in equity and fixed-income strategies, has hired Dan Gruemmer, CFA, as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager. Gruemmer will work on the firm’s International Dividend ADR and Value strategies, where he will play an active role in security selection and investment research. The addition to the team comes as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager Rich Buchwald plans to step back from a day-to-day role at the firm.

Gruemmer brings over a decade of investment experience to his new role. Most recently, he worked at American Century Investments as a Portfolio Manager of the equity income fund and market neutral value fund. There he developed an expertise in value portfolio management, specializing in individual stock positioning and sector weighing decisions. His team was twice nominated for Morningstar’s Stock Fund Manager of the Year with $30B AUM. Prior to his career in finance, Gruemmer was an aerodynamics engineer for The Boeing Company.

“We remain committed to expanding our investment strategy offerings and strengthening our in-house expertise. We have been so fortunate to have Rich as part of the team for over 20 years and know Dan will continue the momentum,” said Stephen Lee, a Founding Principal of Logan Capital. “Dan’s background offers the team additional expertise in value strategies and a fresh perspective on equity analysis that will benefit our clients and partners.”

“Logan Capital’s proven model was immediately appealing, as it aligns with my investing philosophy,” Gruemmer added. “I am excited to join the Logan team to provide the firm’s clients with diversified and tailored investment strategies.”

Gruemmer will work alongside Managing Director and Portfolio Manager Bill Fitzpatrick, CFA, on the International Dividend ADR and Value strategies. The Logan International Dividend ADR strategy is a large-cap, high dividend yield international equity strategy that takes a total return approach and uses a bottom-up selection process. The Logan Value strategy employs fundamental research to identify mega-cap stocks with strong cash flows, clean balance sheets and relatively high dividend yields.
