Bill Fitzpatrick Named Board Chair of the CFA Society Chicago
Industry Veteran Leads Sixth Largest Society in the CFA Institute Family

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA. — [October. 13, 2022] — William “Bill” Fitzpatrick, CFA, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Logan Capital Management, Inc. (Logan Capital), a registered investment adviser with a series of separately managed accounts in equity and fixed-income strategies, has been appointed Board Chair of the CFA Society Chicago. Fitzpatrick assumed the role on September 1, 2022.

CFA Society Chicago has more than 5,000 professional members with a variety of classifications and titles in the investment industry. Members of the Society are committed to holding the highest ethical and educational standards. CFA Society Chicago hosts events featuring top industry speakers, seminars on specialized topics, professional development workshops and networking outings.

As managing director and portfolio manager at Logan Capital, Fitzpatrick is tasked with overseeing the Logan Concentrated Value (LCV), Logan Value (LV) and Logan International ADR equity strategies. Prior to joining the firm in 2019, he served as director and senior global equity analyst at Manulife Asset Management and held similar positions at Optique Capital and Johnson Asset Management.

Zanny Minto Beddoes, the editor-in-chief of The Economist and first woman to hold the role at the publication, will be the keynote speaker at CFA Society Chicago’s most high-profile event of the year, its 35th annual Dinner on Wednesday, October 26 at the Aon Grand Ballroom on the Navy Pier. Fitzpatrick is a CFA charterholder. He previously co-chaired the Society’s Professional Development Advisory Group from 2017 to 2018 and judged the Chicago chapter’s Research Challenge in 2018. As part of his role as Chair, Fitzpatrick serves as vice-chair on seven of the board’s committees, including audit, ethics and external relations, which raise awareness about the CFA designation and activities with external groups and businesses in the Chicagoland area.
